5 Podcasts That Motivate Educators To Earn Extra Money

There’s a lot for educators doubling as entrepreneurs to love about podcasts. If you think you don’t have time to read books, it may be time to explore a new way to continuously learn and gather new information. As edupreneurs, we can never stop learning.

Podcasts make learning easy and accessible. Simply subscribe to your favorite shows to have them automatically downloaded to your device, grab your ear buds, and proceed with life a usual. As with listening to audiobooks (which I talk about in detail in this post), you can indulge in podcasting while working out, cooking dinner, walking the dog, or just about anything. What more could a busy educator ask for?

Personally, I am attracted to podcasts that give me nuggets of wisdom I can immediately implement in my life and business. I also love to be inspired to take action when listening to podcasts.

One category of podcasts that is exploding with new content daily is business and online marketing. However, all podcasts are not created equally and some are better for educator entrepreneurs than others.

Here are the 5 podcasts I suggest every eduprenuer subscribe to and consume weekly.

The Flipped Lifestyle

Shane and Jocelyn Sams are two of the most relatable and honest entrepreneurs you’ll ever encounter. Both Shane and Jocelyn are former educators, Shane a football coach and Jocelyn a librarian. Their podcast is tremendously helpful because they air live coaching sessions that help entrepreneurs (many are teachers) in their online community solve a problem in their business. This podcast keeps business advice simple enough to understand yet valuable enough to be impactful.

Talks With Teachers

During the year 2016, hosted Brian Sztabnik, if focusing the show on educators with an online presence. As a former English teacher and current blogger and Edutopia community facilitator, Brian is accustomed to facilitating rich conversations, and this podcast doesn’t disappoint. The most recent episodes of the show are perfect for educators who are also entrepreneurs. Previous episodes are great for all educators interested in keeping up with trends in education.

The easiest way to keep up with them all is to pick one to listen to each day. This list will take you Monday through Friday. As you listen, the hosts will begin to overlap and interview each other. They will also start to recommend other podcasts. It will seem overwhelming at first but pace yourself. Take what you can use and go back to the stuff you don’t need in the moment. Figure out what your purpose is and use their info to assist your mission.

Is there a podcast you’d add to this list? Leave me a comment and let me know the name of your favorite podcast.
